FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. How many days in advance should I book my henna?

A. I only use natural henna, which takes 48 hours to darken to the deep maroon stain we all love. It is best to get your henna done 2-3 days before your event, to ensure the henna has enough time to darken!

Q. What kind of henna do you use?

A. I only use 100% natural red henna, 100% jagua henna which is a blue black henna that is derived from a fruit, or a mix of the two to give you a nice deep maroon-brown stain. I do not use chemical henna or black henna even upon request. No henna provided by clients is used.

Q. Where are you located?

A: I am based in NYC, as well as in Albany, NY!

Q. Do you travel?

A. I do travel to all surrounding states (NJ, PA, VT, CT, MA, NH), as well as internationally for destination weddings! Want to see if I can travel to you? Send me an email at bookings@hennabynayalesh.com to inquire!

Q. How far in advance should I book my bridal henna?

A. You should book bridal henna at least 6 months in advance for a guaranteed spot. Peak wedding season runs from May-September, so it is recommended to book 8 months to a year in advance if you are getting married in those months!

Q. What aftercare do you recommend for the best stain?

A. You should keep natural henna on for at least 6 hours, but most of my brides leave their henna on overnight! When you are ready to take the henna off, don't wash it off. Scrape it off with a flat, blunt object like a credit card or dull butterknife. Remove any hard to remove henna pieces by letting the henna soften up using coconut or any kind of oil. Once removed, try to avoid contact with water for 24 hours, as water doesn't let the henna oxidize and stain as dark. Your henna stain will reach its darkest point 48 hours after removal!

 Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. All bookings require a non-refundable deposit. This deposit is deducted from your overall cost and is non-refundable. If you reschedule more than one in advance, the deposit can be transferred to another day. If you cancel/reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment, the deposit is lost and a new deposit will be required to re-book.

Q: What is your refund policy for products?
A: Since henna is perishable, readymade henna cones are not eligible for refunds. Henna cones are only eligible for replacements if the package came defective. If any of your packages came defective please email a photo alongside your order number to bookings@hennabynayalesh.com within 48 hours of you receiving the package. For all other items, returns are accepted within 30 days if it is unused and in the original packaging. Please email bookings@hennabynayalesh.com with the order number and reason for your return, as well as the return tracking number. Please not that you will be responsible for any shipping costs, and the original shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Once the item is received and inspected, your refund will be issued within 3-5 days!

Q: I haven’t received my order, what should I do?
